Yes, you will need to bring your own camera to take photographs on the tour; we do not provide cameras for guests. But, your smartphone is a powerful camera, and our guides can show some wonderful APPS and techniques for getting that "just right" Foodie image or shot of a downtown landmark. We also suggest you bring appropriate clothing depending on the weather and time of year, and also sunscreen for those sunny days.

Like the song goes, "This tour was made for shopping" (ala Nancy Sinatra)...well, maybe not quite the words, but Redlands is a destination college town. Not only are there fantastic eateries on every corner, but quaint and eclectic  shops to explore. Toy stores, fashion boutiques, a comic book emporium, jewelry stores, art galleries, historical points of interest, and so much more! We can't stop at all the cool locations, but you will pass them all and after the tour, you will be able to return to pick up that one of a kind item for family and friends (or plan on another trip later to explore even more).

While the tastings may vary slightly on the 3 different food tours offered, we usually visit about 5-6 eateries, plus a couple of places to sample the great breweries and distilleries in the area, while stopping at one of the many unique dessert, candy or sweet confectioneries in town. You will be amazed at the diverse tastes and every tour will have something new to experience. Come back often to try something new each time.

Like mentioned previously, our food tours include tasting of various wines, spirits, and beers. You are also welcome to bring a bottle of water with you, although regular drinking water is provided at every place we visit. For underage participants, there are no substitution tastings available at the breweries (but some do offer uniquely crafted sodas) and they will be skipping out on any wine tastings, which is why there is a reduced price for attendees under 21 or non-drinkers.

Like the theme from Gilligan's Island goes, "A 3-hour Tour"...so we do walk around town for around three hours, so plan on doing just that. The food tour is conducted at a casual pace and stops frequently with optional seating at most places, spending approximately 15-20 minutes at each of the designated tasting spots. Of course, we recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes and bringing a bottle of water that we will pass out to every guest at the beginning of the tour. And yes, we can stop for bathroom breaks and our offices are at the center of the tour for any emergencies.

Our tours not only combine architectural commentary, historical facts, and local culture but also our guides are familiar with the town's connection to Old Hollywood and the many film productions and celebrities that have made Redlands their home. You may even be surprised at certain guests that may attend the tour with you...but we just don't know who they might be till reveled. Plus, at the end of each tour, a free raffle is drawn for something special for one of our guests to return home with.

You might personally know the town and some of the stops, but the chefs at each restaurant love to experiment and change up their menus constantly. And, many locals don't know about the Hollywood connection and may be in for a treat if a celebrity from out of town joins the tour. Learning about local history and how to take awesome photo is a plus! The tour is something a local can bring their out of town or visiting family and friends to experience, and also a great gift for the holidays and birthdays to experience. Corporate and business groups are welcome to attend and our guides will create a private tour just for you and your guests.

When booking your tour, please be sure to let us know if you (or anyone in your group) has a dietary restriction (e.g. vegetarian, vegan, diabetic, allergy, etc.) when you purchase your tickets. As long as we know in advance for our Foodie Photos Tour, we can usually accommodate most needs and give our chefs a heads up to prepare something special for you or for the whole group to experience.

Two great questions! Best to book your tour in advance to get the day and tie you want. Tours sell out often.  But, many times our tour tickets can be purchased just a few hours before the start of the tour. Depends on availability. Tickets may be purchased either online or by phone with any major credit card. We also offer Zelle, PayPal and Venmo. Cash on day of the tours are NOT accepted.

There is street parking all throughout town, but it is for only two hours. There are 3 large FREE parking structures right next to the tour and a huge structure at the train station for guests arriving from other communities, out of town and the Los Angeles and Orange County areas.  All within walking distance to our tour meeting points. We WON'T stop the tour for you to move your vehicle if on the street.

All great and important questions. many of the new restaurants aren't ADA compliant, only because they are on historical town lists, but many have made improvements to address the issue. But, some the unique hidden eateries are in alleys and in space spaces, so be prepared for that and please let us know in advance so we can create a tour that will be enjoyable and comfortable by all.  Same with strollers, be aware of the tight or small spaces of the alley restaurants explored.

While children are welcome on our tours, please keep in mind that the tour is approximately 3 hours long and we walk roughly 1 mile. Parents, you know their children best. Just think about whether a 3-3.5-hour walking food tour is appropriate for your own child’s attention span and stamina.

All children 6 years and older are required to have a ticket, and children/persons under 21 or non-drinkers may purchase a reduced-price ticket. Children 5 years and under can attend free of charge (with paid adult ticket) and if they will not be participating in the food tastings and are well behaved. We want to make the experience enjoyable for all. We will provide age appropriate snacks and drinks for them and also make some stops at the unique toy stores in the area.

Gratuities are greatly appreciated by your tour guides who are still paying off their student loans, although not mandatory. The standard gratuity in the service industry is 15%-20%. The guide may also have their own personal access to PayPal, Venmo or Zelle for their tips if you decide to give them something.

If a date is sold out, there is a chance that we will add an additional tour or include you on one if we have cancellations.  Contact us at 310-562-8655 or email us at DavidGerhartz@ProtonMail.com to what date you are interested in or for any additional questions we may have missed discussing here.

Lastly, NO SMOKING on the tours or in any restaurants and businesses.

We hope to make your experience one of kind and uniquely fun!
